WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT THE CLEVELAND CHALLENGE CUP OF BOCCE
August 31, 2011

"The Cleveland Challenge Cup of Bocce is the best tournament in the USA, one of the best run, well-organized tournaments I play in…and I've played in Brazil, France, Italy, and Canada. I enjoy coming here with my family." Mike Lapcevich / Hermitage, PA.

"As a new player of three years and having played in Rome, NY and other local tournaments in Pennsylvania, (I'm impressed by) the way you are treated by the members of the Wickliffe Italian-American Club and their hospitality. The entertainment is second to none. I look forward to coming here, year after year." Dennis Harrison / Sharon, PA.

"We play all over the world: Italy, Brazil, Canada, USA, and I consider this tournament as one of the best run tournaments – very friendly and family oriented, and run very honorably." Pat Concordia / Past President of the Ontario Bocce Association

"Best tournament I played in this year. I play in Chicago, Las Vegas, New York, Atlantic City, and this is the best tournament I've played in. Wickliffe has the best and friendliest people. We are treated like family and enjoy coming back year after year." Leo Bravo / Rainbow Creek Bocce Club Toronto, Canada

"My family and I always look forward to coming to Wickliffe for the great tournament that the I&A Club holds. The tournament and the facility seem to grow year after year, and it's a pleasure to be a part of." Pat Pezzin Family / Toronto, Canada

"We have been coming to the tournament for 20 years. We look forward to seeing the wonderful friends we've made and enjoying the festivities at the I&A Club. Don't change a thing guys! You have the best tournament going. Thanks for the great time!" J.J.'s Litehouse Team / Farrell, PA. Don Bochert – Bob Mittal – Mike Lapcevich – Fred Sablack

"My teammates and I look forward to coming to your tournament every year to enjoy the great hospitality, friendship, and festivities that go on. Continue the great success." Mayor Infante / Niles, OH Carmen Schuville – Ron Cappagreco – Bob Gentile – Pat Rish

Another year of hosting an event that is enjoyed by so many people. The teamwork, pride and friendships of the members at the I&A Club make you a unique and priceless group. Bravo!!! Teresa Galioto (Spectator)

"GREAT TO BE AROUND ALL THOSE ITALIANS" What a great atmosphere it was on Friday & Saturday at the Bocce Tournaments in Wickliffe. Everyone acted respectable, were dressed decently, no foul language was heard, and the place wasn't trashed when everyone went home. This is what you get when Italians enter the picture. Good, wholesome, family entertainment. It's an atmosphere you want to be around. Something you want to go back and partake in. None of the women were dressed trashy. None of the men wore pants hanging down. That stuff don't go with Italians. Pure class was shown by one and all. Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic! A great plus for the community whenever it takes place. Jon Scardelletti (from www.news-herald.com)

The mecca of all Bocce tournaments is held right there in a beautiful town, amongst some of the most beautiful hearted people I've ever met, and that place is at the Cleveland Challenge Cup Of Bocce, located in Wickliffe Ohio. I've been traveling and playing this sport of Bocce for 20 years, I've played all over the United States and in Canada, I have not come across a better tournament. This is the best run tournament by far in so many ways, not only is this a Bocce tournament, it is an event. It has something for everyone there is music, great food and beverages, guest speakers, etc. They are always looking for ways to improve the tournament, I've filled out questionnaires that ask what can we do to better this tournament the following year. I truly appreciate the hard work and commitment to excellence that is put forth each and every year at this tournament. Amongst the Bocce players, this is one tournament that you do not want to miss. Anyone that asks me about this tournament that hasn't been before, I say you have to go! People drive and fly from all over to the United States to take part in this event.

There are so many people that come to this event, not only to watch the Bocce tournament, but to get out and socialize. This tournament provides an outlet for people to go out and have a good time. I've met so many wonderful people at this tournament, I consider this place a home away from home, and that is because of all the love I feel being surrounded by such great people! I've actually considered moving there, I like it so much! This tournament has grown every year and will only continue to grow because of the hard work put forth by the members of the Wickliffe Italian American Club. My father and I like it so much we decided to have a brick made out with our names and the years we won the tournament located near their beautiful fountain. I do think they could do more in one area, and that is host more Bocce tournaments throughout the year. I miss the place once I get into my car and start driving home to Rochester, NY. I can't thank Gino, Paul, Chris, Oliver to name a few of the club members enough for all their hard work. Next year can't come soon enough to see my friends down there in beautiful Wickliffe, Ohio! Ezio Carrozzi / Team Rochester (former 2-time champion of the Cleveland Challenge Cup of Bocce)

You and your dedicated committee should be commended for yet another successful bocce tournament. In addition to providing exciting, competitive fun for the players, your tournament creates a great amount of community pride for the Wickliffe area. I know the players and fans from Ashtabula enjoy the event each year. Over the years, we have developed friendships that are sure to endure for years to come. The many sponsors and advertisers, whose annual support ensures the continuing growth of the tournament, must be pleased with the community’s enjoyment of the weekend event. As an advertiser this year, I genuinely appreciate the exposure of having an ad in the 2011 program booklet. The booklet is professionally produced, and we intend to participate in next year’s edition. Cordially, Mark Andrews, President of the Warren Andrews Scholarship Association
